This short hike gives some great views over the landscape and city of San Luis Obispo. Islay Hill can be found on the outside of town near the Airport with several trail heads you can take to get up this fun day hike. This hike is unique in the way that you may pass some grazing cows on your way down the trail or possibly run into some deer as you make the trek up. From the top you can find one of San Luis Obispo's prized painted cows as it appears to be overlooking the city. If you are really feeling adventurous you can explore the trails on the top of the hill until coming to a spot that was once where a single-engine craft rammed the side of the hill.

P.S. If you're a geocache enthusiast then head into the large trees when you get to the base of the hill and you are one step closer to finding the secret box hidden on the hill!
